Isabelle D’Amico

Isabelle D’Amico is a multidisciplinary artist working in painting, drawing, printmaking, and digital media. Her practice explores the pastiche of highbrow-lowbrow visual cultures, combining references from canonical art and literature with popular imagery from cinema, social media, and commercial illustration. Her mark-making is often sketchy and messy, built through struggle with charcoal, ink, or paint, and punctuated by moments of extreme delicacy and precision. Through this process, her work situates human figures within charged environments, employing narrative, humor, and sensuality to critically engage with questions of relational dynamics, isolation, and identity in the contemporary age.
